No, Thanks, I’m Having Cereal
Previous entry
First, a random sparkly picture of Ves.

Ves
Now, on to business.
Ardra is now 110 years old. I suppose her long age is based on her number of LTH points. Joe-Jon had 100K and lived a couple of days longer than I expected. Dallas had 38K and dropped dead with no almost no warning. Ardra’s up to approximately 225K now. So, since all the born-in-family DeCasims are going to have massive LTH points, it seems that longevity will run in the family.
Yet another picture of Ardra at the easel:

Ardra
I think it’s neat that she can paint a picture of Sunset Valley. I would think it was more neat if she could paint Riverview, since that’s where she lives, but whatever.
Ba’el has been very helpful lately.

Ba’el (and arm of Elisio the Maid)
She completed her third writing skill challenge. That’s a point for me!
She can write Masterpieces now, which I think pay better than romances. I’m not sure about that. Anyway, she took a few days off writing to gain level 7 gardening. I’m not going to have her pursue gardening for points, as that’s a full time job and needs to go to a younger Sim. I just wanted her to be able to grow the Life Fruit, since Sev will need to make Ambrosia in order to score all her cooking points. (Kivas can catch the Death Fish for her.)

Ba’el
Here, Ba’el is seen fertilizing her garden with steaks. Because she’s just that rich. (She owns partnerships in the entire town, now, by the way.)
While giving Ba’el a break from studying gardening, I had her do a program on the VR headset. I think it was the Sci-Fi program, but I’m not sure. Anyway, we both got a surprise!

Ba’el
She just flew up in the air and starting spinning and flipping! It lasted several seconds. I was getting ready to go to map view and try to find a priest to come and cast out whatever demons she’d been possessed with, but then she floated gently down to the ground.
Crazy stuff, man.
I read on the wiki that Sims can get moodlets from the VR toy, but mine never have, and they use it pretty often. I thought for sure Ba’el would get one after the flying incident, but nope. Huh.
In other news:

Ves
Ves became an Adult, and also completed all of his athletic skill challenges, which is another point for me. Now that he’s completed both the skill challenges I set for him, he’s spending his spare time upgrading the household appliances to unbreakable. I adore Ves.
He’s at level 8 in his career now, but I ran into a little problem. His superior officer seems to have died and has not been replaced. Ves has a big red scowling face for his boss icon in the job performance panel, and no option for “suck up to superior”. I think this is the result of how I have set up the Awesomemod. I have the No Silly Bosses (or whatever it’s called) option turned on. It’s supposed to prevent Sims from outranking their bosses. (Like, for example, when a Pop Icon has a Music Talent Scout for his boss.) I thought that the mod was supposed to replace dead bosses, but it doesn’t seem to be happening. So I shall disable that feature for now. It isn’t important for my Legacy Family, anyway. Who cares who their bosses are, as long as they all get promoted!
On the subject of promotions,

Perrin and Eaxis Sim Whose Name I’ve Forgotten
Poor Perrin. She’s at level 8 in her career, too, but for her it’s been a struggle. Certainly, she has no time to pursue outside interests, as her brother does. She can’t even get a solid night’s sleep. We’ve worked out a system for her reporting, though. She comes home from work and takes a quick nap. Then she heads into town and becomes acquainted with a random person, as seen here. As soon as she’s done shaking their hand, she cases their house to see if another family member is home. If so, she invites herself over for a visit and roots in the garbage can. Then home to clean up the trash, write a report, and take a bath. Then, another nap before breakfast and it’s back to work.
Kivas has his rock collection nearly complete, and is also moving up in his fishing skill. He’s taken a break from rock hunting to round up some rare seeds for his mother to plant for his sister (there is no I in team).
I bought him this:

Hotter Than a $2 Pistol
Every young man’s dream, right? I should be able to upgrade him to the top-of-the-line car before he graduates high school.
As a side note, I have this car assigned to Kivas exclusively, but the family shares ownership of the Evasions I bought them. However, they all prefer driving Perrin’s police car and will always take it instead of the Evasions if it’s in the garage. This is very amusing to me.
Sev started learning to cook, and we ran into some problems. I was anxious to try out the food replicator I got ages ago and have never used. No point, since Sev is the first DeCasim to learn to cook. At first it seemed pretty cool. Sev cooked some mac & cheese, I had her store it, and the rest of the family got the option to replicate it. According to the pie menu, they could get 20 helpings of mac & cheese out of there before Sev would need to reload it. Super, right?
Wrong.
Now, I’d read that food would go bad in the food replicator, but I did not expect it to go bad the NEXT SIM DAY! It didn’t even last as long as leftovers in the cheap fridge! WTH? Look!

Yuk
It’s hard to see, but there are green fumes rising from the bowl which Ves has JUST THIS SECOND pulled out of the replicator.
This is very annoying. How many LTH points did I waste on that thing?
Even worse, Perrin accidentally ate some putrid replicated mac & cheese before we noticed the green fumes. She was already tired from digging in the trash all night, then she had to wake up in the middle of her nap to puke, and then she was almost completely worn out when it was time to go to work.
That’s when I discovered that Sims can’t call out sick anymore. Or if they can, I can’t figure out how.
The good news is, they are able to work half days, so I had Perrin take another nap and sent her to work late.
Anyway, after this fiasco, the food replicator is going in the attic until I can get a mod or patch for it. The DeCasims have been living on a diet of cereal and canned soup all their lives. It will not hurt them to go back. Or, if they prefer, they can fight over whatever food Sev has prepared for her cooking goal.
I’ll stick to cereal!
Total score = 23.

I realize I’m a little later her, but you’ve been going about the whole police report thing all wrong.
First, as I’m sure you saw with me and Lydia, you can become decent enough friends to questing someone by playing a single game of chess with them. It helps if you have the Attractive perk.
Second, you don’t need to know someone to rummage through their trash can. When Coraa was trying to become Jane Bond, I would just go to map view, zoom in on a house, see if someone lived there, and if someone did live there, I’d find the trash can and have her rummage through it. It was a really simple process, and you were so very needlessly hard on poor Perrin.
Live and learn, I suppose. n00b. Oh, right.. Queen n00b.
As for why I’m reading this again.. no clue.. just bored I suppose.. I really ought o be working on an update for the Nunya Non-Leg, The Asa, or even Learning With Aaroc.

Oh noes, poor Perrin. Oh, well, as you said, live and learn. My next cop and my reporter will know better.
LOL it’s actually kind of a nice compliment to know that you were re-reading while bored.
Hi. With the call out sick to work they can just not go or only go for like a few hours. It doesn’t harm their performance much as they could easily reboot it back up again when they go back to work. If you get the slacker perk then their performance decreases much slower than if they don’t have it.
If I remember correctly the perk doesn’t use up much LTH points at all as I think its one of the very first (5,000 LTH points). Correct me if I am wrong though.
Hi, Lizzie, and welcome to the Learnin’ Legacy! I think the perk you’re talking about is 10K. I’m not sure, either, haha! But you are right, that is a handy one, especially if a Sim is getting stressed while working.
I don’t actually store food in my sims’ replicator, I just use it to replicate a meal.
Really? Maybe I should have someone dig the replicator out of storage and try again . . . .
‘m just posting on this ancient entry to say Nicola got two bad, bad moodlets at once from the evil VR toy the other day. I’m yet to be convinvced by that thing.
Oh, noes. That seems rare, though, at least in my game. Aside from Taris, who got ‘em all the time, Mirasta got one, I think Fred might have gotten one, and that’s it.
